Alexander Sharabaroff

Alexander is a Senior Energy Specialist with the World Bank. He has over 20 years of experience in the energy sector spanning both private and public sectors. Alexander has been leading investment, advisory and policy reforms projects with a focus on sustainable district heating and cooling solutions, decarbonization and circular economy. His geographic experience covers emerging markets in Europe, Central, South and East Asia, and Latin America. Prior to joining the World Bank, Alexander spent 13 years with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and held various positions in the industry, including a combined heat-and-power and district heating utility, consultancy and project development. Alexander holds MS in Thermal Power Engineering, MS in Energy Economics and is a CFA Charterholder. The working languages are English, Russian and Spanish. In his free time Alexander enjoys sailing and reading.
